Flannan Isle Final Images 4

These two images are from a series of twelve in total that visually document my interpretation of a short poem called ‘Flannan Isle’ (written by William Wilfred Gibson in 1912). My aim was to capture the tension and ambiguity established in the narrative while exploring scale, composition and mood.

The poem recalls a true event that occurred on the 26th of December 1900, when three lighthouse keepers mysteriously vanished and three seafarers were sent to investigate.

Each image was produced digitally on Photoshop using a graphics tablet.
